Watch Chris McKeown's 2022 Farnborough Winter Half Marathon VLOG.

We are now open for entries for the 2027 Farnborough Winter Half Marathon. As previously the route will start and finish under the Aircraft Hangar Arch in Farnborough Business Park but there has been  modifications to the route to remove the out and back section on Laffans Lane and then along Shoe Lane when there is extensive building work. The additional distance is made up in the early sections of the course on the roads of Farnborough Exhibition Centre with the route broadly circling the airport, passing along the inner lane of the A325 before and turning onto Aerospace Boulevard and returning to the Exhibition Centre. The new course still needs to be formally measured and certified before we can obtain the England Athletics License.

For those of you who are new to the event, the Farnborough Winter Half is often the first Major Half Marathon of the year, there is a limit of 3000 runners in the race and the race usually sells out  before race date. The route is fast in 2026  the race was won by Theo Doran who came home in 1:07:48 with Rachel Laurie winning the women's race in 1:17:21. With the help of our pace teams -we had 20 pacers covering six different time goals -  we also  had 339 finishers under 90 minutes and 1464 runners under two hours,  more importantly we had 2351 total finishers as well as over 60 children running the 800m Kids Run.

The weather was kind to us in 2026 and it was not quite the 'Winter' Half we have had in previous years where sub-zero temperatures and snow flurries are more common. Full results are available form the link above as are images from the 2026 race, which are free to download. We are looking forward to another successful race in 2027.

We have a long list of sponsors who provide their support to the event,  notably our presenting sponsor, Farnborough Airport, which has supported the race for the last three years, as well as Farnborough Business Park, which provides our iconic start/finish area and was one founding partners. We also appreciate the support of Rushmoor Borough Council, the Village Hotel Farnborough and  FLUOR all of which have been long time supporters of the race.

Lastly a note of thanks to our volunteers, who are essential for the running of the event. We have a very small full-time events team and we are heavily reliant upon our volunteer marshals and helpers to deliver the events. We are particularly grateful tour two charity partners, the Rainbow Trust and Oakleaf, who provided volunteers for two drinks stations as well Fluor who manned the third in 2026.

If you would like to join the team and find out more about volunteering/marshalling at the  Farnborough Winter Half Marathon or any of our other events,  please contact info@209events.com

Our partners at The Village Hotel Farnborough offer a great place to stay on the weekend of the race. The hotel is only two minutes' walk from the start/finish  and offers early breakfast on race morning with free parking for guests only.  If you are running in the race and you use the code VHEVE  you will receive 10% off the best available rates at the hotel. To use the code you need to visit https://www.village-hotels.co.uk/farnborough and evener the code in the promotions drop down box.
